Homebake

ITS BACK BABY!

After a brief hiatus the ultimate showcase of Australian bands is returning to its home ground in the Domain and I must say I am pretty godamn excited about this.

I have many fond memories of this festival for many reasons.
After all it was my first festival I ever went to at 12 years of age and was the moment I fell in love with live music, which to me was a pretty big deal.

All vital flaws within the Australian music industry aside, its good to see that this staple in the summer festival program hasnt been beaten by the growing techno-fest scene and other international act driven festivals.

It's integral that we keep supporting local music.

Not only are we the people the lifeline that the industry needs to keep growing in order to produce home grown talent, but festivals such as Homebake give Aussie bands something achievable to strive for and a way for people to appreciate music from our shores for a moment.

I'm also thrilled that Grinderman are headlining, so that also might have something to do with my enthusiasm...

So I'll leave you with a sample of what to expect my friends, because I know I'm going to see you all there ;)
